Rolling Hills Christian Montessori School (RHCMS) was created to be a premier education provider for the North Shore area, creating lifelong learners and scholars by embracing and supporting the natural curiosity of a child. In our nurturing and calm environment, your child is guided towards exploration and learning.
Created by Maria Montessori in 1897, she observed that confined children were in need of more stimulation from their environment. Montessori education involves free activity within a "prepared environment", meaning an educational environment tailored to basic human characteristics, to the specific characteristics of children at different ages, and to the individual personalities of each child. The function of the environment is to help and allow the child to develop independence in all areas according to their thirst for learning through the mastery of cumulative small tasks. In addition to offering access to the Montessori materials appropriate to the age of the child, the environment should exhibit the following characteristics:
- An arrangement that facilitates movement and activity
- Beauty and harmony, cleanliness of environment
- Construction in proportion to the child and their needs
- Limitation of materials, so that only material that supports the child's development is included
- Order
- Nature in the classroom and outside of the classroom

Rolling Hills Christian Montessori School is welcoming to children of all faiths. We strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ here on Earth, and as such we seek to provide and promote quality education to all who attend, with respect for your family's culture, traditions, and religion. We do not attempt to convert a child to our religion or override religious teachings taught in the home or home church. All students attend weekly chapel led by Ordained Minister Rachael McConnell, who is our church's Head Pastor. Christian values and ethics are taught in a way that does not ostracize those outside the church. Our school hopes to partner with you, the parent, to create a loving and supportive environment for your children.
2023 Summer Camp
June 6 - July 28
We are offering Montessori Summer Camp from June 6 - July 28 for ages Birth - Rising 3rd Graders.
For the week of July 31 - August 4 we will have our "Ready, Set, Move!" Vacation Bible School (VBS) for ages 3 - Rising 5th Graders.
*Summer Camp will be offered ONLY to children ages Birth -3 for the week of July 31st - August 4th.
